Bicast Leather (also known as bycast leather, split leather or PU leather) is a split leather with a layer of polyurethane applied to the surface and then embossed.

The next layer of the hide is used to make split leather sofas. The split leather may be treated in such a way as to make it look as good as top grain, but it is not as strong.
